Town Centre First Assessment (NPF4 Policy 27)
The health of High Streets has declined considerably.
Government policy challenges new development which might play a role to boost town centres by requiring developers to justify and demonstrate if their use could fit in a town centre first - or is suitable or compatible - before considering other locations.
We work closely with the developers to ensure this matter is professionally presented and a case is made to persuade decision makers of compliance.
We have recently undertaken Town Centre First Assessment:
For Clacks Council in demonstrating the location of a well-being leisure hub and school is well-justified and suited to the chosen location
For Grove Retail and Tesco Stores in demonstrating its new out of centre outlet will not harm high street shopping
For Stephens Bakers in demonstrating their drive through and drive to shops are in justified locations
