Happy St. Andrews Day...

Since launching the business in August, these first four months have been a really exciting time and a huge learning curve! Here are some  of the highlights of the start-up, as case examples of the types of service Gray Planning & Development can offer you.

  • A rural haulage business has asked GP&D and its preferred architects, CD Architects, to prepare a scheme for a new residential development on brownfield land in the Green Belt - the key here will be arguing reuse of land, business diversity and high quality design

  • A Highland retailer has asked GP&D to provide Transport Scotland comments on the future A9-A96 road link as it affects their commercial property. This has involved careful examination of the planning consents, prospects and whether some betterment or compensation could be argued to offset long term impacts

  • We are delighted to be preparing a planning application for further expansion of Castle Stuart Golf Links - a cosy, comfy hotel to rest on the world listed Golf Links and are continuing to scratch the surface (literally!) on major archaeological evaluation constraints which affects design - all knock on to the need for planning changes which GP&D continues to build its great working relationship with Highland Council and its local advisors.

  • Further to securing sports pitch development consent for a St Andrews green belt location in Summer. GP&D has enabled the developer to progress with demolition of unsafe residential buildings on site - under a special planning procedure

  • We have provided expert input to a local developer's case as it bids to purchase a commercial property at a high profile position on the Scottish road network - with a closing date in December, this could be "the Drive Thu" needed for 2018's success!
